Alcohol Beverage Licenses
- Liquor sold & consumed on-sight; Example: Drinking a cocktail at a Restaurant
- Includes Video Lottery; maximum of 10 machines per license with a cost of $50 per machine
- Renews annually on January 1st; Renewal fee of $1,500
- Capped by population per SDCL; a Retail (on-sale) Liquor License must be purchased from a current licensee
- Licensee must also hold a Liquor Establishment Business License (cost of $75 per year)

Video Lottery Application
- Liquor sold & consumed on-sight; Example: Drinking a cocktail at a Restaurant
- Prohibits Video Lottery in licensed location, including adjacent or adjoining structures
- Must prove 60% food sales through an annual certification by a licensed CPA Firm. Failure to meet this requirement will prohibit the full-service restaurant from reapplying for the Retail (on-sale) Liquor – Restaurant License for 1 year
- Food & alcoholic beverages may not be sold, served or consumed on premises between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- May only be advertised as primarily a food eating establishment
- License may only be transferred in conjunction with the transfer of ownership of the restaurant holding the license
- Initial fee: $50,000.00

Liquor Establishment - Renewal and Application
- Allows only for malt beverages & wine produced in State of South Dakota; Example: Drinking a beer at a casino OR Buying a six-pack of beer at a gas station to drink at home.
- Renews annually on July 1st; Renewal fee of $300
- Limited licenses with Video Lottery; those with Video Lottery must be purchased from a current licensee

Video Lottery Application
- Allows for all wines & cider beverages; Example: Drinking a glass of wine at a restaurant OR Buying a bottle of wine to drink at home
- Renews annually on January 1st; Renewal fee of $500
- Liquor sold & consumed elsewhere; Example: Buying whiskey to drink at home
- Renews annually on January 1st; Renewal fee of $500
- Capped by City Ordinance; a Package (off-sale) Liquor License must be purchased from a current licensee
