Recreation Programs & Facilities

Watertown Parks & Recreation offers a wide range of programs for all ages — from youth leagues and seasonal camps to adult fitness classes, indoor activities, and community events. In addition to structured programs, Parks & Recreation operates indoor facilities that support practices, rentals, birthday parties, meetings, and year-round recreation. The City Auditorium and Park & Rec Fieldhouse play a key role in delivering these activities, and their details are listed in the sections that follow.

The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department offices are housed at the Fieldhouse, located at 1900 W. Kemp Ave. The facility is used for programs, practices, meetings, rentals, and special events throughout the fall, winter, and spring.

Facility Features

  • 7,000 square feet of turf, set up as one large competitive field or divided into two smaller fields
  • 2 indoor batting cages
  • 2 pitching stations with elevated mounds
  • Soft toss/tee stations
  • Open warm-up and infield practice area
  • Two meeting rooms (Highland Room and Morningside Room)

Meeting Room Rentals

‣ Highland Room – Classroom-style setup for up to 40 people with tables, projector, whiteboards, and TV.
‣ Morningside Room – Conference-style room for 10–12 people with a large table, 70" smart TV, HDMI/wireless casting, whiteboard, and Wi-Fi.

Turf & Cage Rentals

‣ Turf Rental: $50.00/hour
‣ Batting Cage Rental: $30.00/hour

Rental fees include use of the Fieldhouse and necessary equipment for scheduled activity. For availability and reservations, contact the Parks & Rec office at 605-882-6260.

Fieldhouse & Auditorium Birthday Parties

Fieldhouse and Auditorium birthday packages provide active indoor space for celebrations. Availability may vary by season and facility schedule.

Option 1: Basic Party

‣ Fee: $150
‣ Duration: 2 hours
‣ Turf time plus classroom space for cake, food, and presents
‣ Games may include flag football, dodgeball, soccer, wiffleball, kickball, and obstacle courses

Option 2: Bounce House Party (Fieldhouse Only)

‣ Fee: $300
‣ Duration: 2 hours
‣ Bounce house set up on half the turf; remaining turf available for games
‣ Classroom space for cake, food, and presents
‣ Games may include flag football, dodgeball, soccer, wiffleball, kickball, and obstacle courses
