[ARCHIVED] Snow Removal Procedures

The Watertown Street Department would like to remind Watertown residents of the snow removal procedures and policies for the City of Watertown.

When a snowfall of 2" or more occurs in our community a snow alert will be issued. Plowing will begin with Highways 81, 20, 212, emergency snow routes and schools. Streets will be plowed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with avenues being completed on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday or until said street or avenue has been plowed. Deviations of these procedures may occur due to storm severity and allocation of resources.

The entire Uptown area to include streets and avenues, is cleaned at the same time whenever we receive over 2" of snow. This area is well signed and vehicles in this area are subject to immediate ticketing and towing.

The Police Department may remove or cause to be removed any vehicle found in violation of the provisions of Section 18.0101 within City Ordinance. parking on streets, avenues or snow routes during the days they are scheduled to be plowed will result in a fine of $40 and after 72 hours will double to $80. 18.0102
