[ARCHIVED] Watertown Fire Rescue Responds to Semi Tractor Fire

WFR responded to a fire at Fed Ex Freight on Oakwood Road early Saturday morning. The fire was reported at 3:31 AM. Upon arrival, crews found a semi tractor fully involved with fire. The fire was reported by a passerby. Crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the Fed Ex Freight building, located just a few feet from the fire's origin. The semi tractor is considered a total loss. Damage to the building was held to a minimum, including a broken window and some siding damage from the intense heat. There was also another semi tractor within several feet that was undamaged. The cause of the fire is undetermined. WFR responded with 9 personnel and the fire was under control within several minutes of arrival. There were no injuries reported. WFR would like to thank the Watertown Police Department for their assistance in traffic control. With colder temperatures close please use caution when plugging in vehicle block heaters or using battery tenders/chargers. Stay safe!
