Watertown Fire Rescue was dispatched to 1201 24th St SW for a structure fire at 4:20am on April 10, 2024. On arrival crews found a single wide manufactured home with smoke showing from the rear of the structure. Crews were met outside by the home owner who stated all people are out of the structure but a cat and dog remained inside. Crews made an interior attack and found fire in the back bedroom. While crews extinguished the fire, a second crew performed a search and found the cat and dog. The cat did require some on scene oxygen from the medic crew. Both the cat and dog were taken to the small animal clinic for observation. Crews contained the fire to the room and contents of origin. WFR remained on scene for approximately 2 hours. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Crews were also assisted by Watertown Police Department and Watertown Municipal Utilities.
