The Watertown Police Department received a 911 call at 2:34am this morning advising that a motor vehicle had just struck a house in the 700 block of 1st Street NW. While en-route officers learned that the vehicle had backed away from the house and was now traveling northbound on 1st Street towards 10th Avenue North. The officers were able to stop the driver in the 900 block of 1st Street NW. The driver, identified as Wilder Pastrana-Olivera, 31 of Ortley, South Dakota was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Hit and Run Property Damage, No Drivers License and No Proof of Insurance. Subsequent investigation revealed that in addition to the house being struck a light pole was destroyed and a fire hydrant had also suffered minor damage.
