Watertown Fire department, two ambulances and Florence Fire department responded to a two vehicle head-on accident in rural Florence on Thursday at approximately 1757 hours. One vehicle was westbound on 160th St and one vehicle was eastbound on 160th St. The two vehicles hit head-on just at the crest of a hill.
The jaws of life had to be used on both vehicles in order to remove the victims of the crash. Both vehicles had only one occupant.
Also on scene were South Dakota Highway Patrol, Codington County Sherrif Deputies and WPD officers. The drivers of both cars were transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital. With extra travels planned over the holiday week-end Watertown Fire Rescue reminds all travelers to buckle up and drive safe!
