[ARCHIVED] Obstructing Sidewalks

The Watertown Police Department would like to remind people not to block or obstruct sidewalks. In response to numerous complaints and the safety issues that arise when a sidewalk is blocked, the Watertown Police Department will be addressing any vehicle, camper, boat or trailer that is blocking the sidewalk. The sidewalk does extend through a driveway.

Please see the below City Ordinance:

19.0404: NO PARKING, STOPPING, STANDING IN CERTAIN AREAS AND AT CERTAIN HOURS

2. Unless necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or unless a police officer or official traffic control device has so directed, no person may stop, stand or park a vehicle:
a. On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked
at the edge or curb of a street;
b. On a sidewalk;
c. Within an intersection

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!
