The City has an election on odd years with election day on the third Tuesday of June. This year, the five Council members whose terms will be ending in 2015 are Mike Danforth (Ward A), Jon Solum (Ward B), Al Meisenheimer (Ward C), Bruce Buhler (Ward D),
and Russ Wilkins (Ward E). The first day to begin petition circulation for nominating petitions is April 7th. Anyone who is a registered voter in the ward they are currently residing in and is 18 years or older can come to the Finance Office located at City Hall (23 2nd St NE) to pick up petitions. 50 signatures of registered voters of that ward are required for their name to be put on the ballot. Nominating Petitions must be turned in no later than 5:00 PM, Friday May 8th to be considered. Anyone wanting to register to vote in this election must do so by June 1st. Voter registration cards can be picked up at the Finance Office or the County Auditor Office.
Election day is Tuesday, June 16th at the Watertown High School Arena. The polls open at 7:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM. Anyone in line waiting to vote at 7:00 PM will be allowed to vote.
