[ARCHIVED] Hit and Run/Aggravated Assault

On 07/21/13 at around 12:27 P.M., the WPD was called to the Cenex Convenience Store at
1601 9th Ave SE for a fight in progress.

Officers arrived on scene to find that one of the individuals involved in the fight had been run
over with a vehicle by the other participant in the fight.

The suspect driver was identified as the owner of Asphalt Pavers, Justin Lee Joles. The
victim of the hit & run assault was identified as Guy Fischer, an employee of Asphalt Pavers.

According to witnesses present at the time, Joles intentionally ran into Fischer with his pickup
truck knocking Fischer to the ground. Fischer was drug a few yards until he was able to
roll out of the way.

Joles fled the scene prior to police arrival. Fischer was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital
and treated for his injuries, later determined non-life threatening.

The run vehicle was found a short time later and towed to a secure facility. Information was
gathered that the suspect is believed to have fled the state.

The incident is currently under investigation and arrest warrants pending.
