[ARCHIVED] Outside Storage/Parking Ordinance Revision

The WPD is urging you to take time to read a proposed city ordinance revision that the City Council currently has under consideration. The ordinance is for residential zoned areas only. It does not include commercial zoned areas or the residentially zoned areas around Lake Kampeska. This ordinance will regulate off-street parking of; recreational vehicles, vehicles of not more than one (1) ton capacity, boats, enclosed trailers, utility trailers, snowmobiles, jet skis, ATVs, and other items similar in nature. All of these types of vehicles, not including daily use vehicles, will also be prohibited from parking on the street unless engaged in loading or unloading. The ordinance, as proposed, will also prohibit on and off street parking of buses, commercial vehicles, commercial trailers, and semi-tractor trailers. If you have any questions or concerns you are urged to attend the April 6th Council Working Session at 5:30 PM at City Hall. If you have questions or concerns prior to that meeting you can contact the city building official, the Police Chief, the Mayor, or your council member. You can review the proposed ordinance by visiting the Watertown Police Department website at www.watertownpd.com and clicking on the Proposed New Parking Ordinance Link.
