The City of Watertown is thrilled to announce the receipt of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This recognition honors of Watertown's annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2022.
After careful review by the GFOA's expert panel, our financial report was commended for its clarity and transparency. The report effectively tells Watertown's financial story and explains our financial health as a city. The Certificate of Achievement is an honor for our city government. It signifies our dedication to openness and accountability in managing the finances of our beloved city.
