[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement

The Watertown Police Department was dispatched to the area of 1500 9th Avenue SE at
3:18pm Tuesday afternoon after receiving a call about a female who was yelling
obscenities and brandishing a knife. Officers arrived and a short foot chase ensued
through the Watertown Ford Parking Lot. As officers began to apprehend her, the
female, identified as Josephine Rowland, 26 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, displayed a
knife. Officers disarmed her and took her into custody without further incident or injury.
Josephine is currently being held at the Codington County Jail in Lieu of $20,000 Cash
or Surety bond. She is charged with 1 count each of Aggravated Assault on Law
Enforcement, Simple Assault, Possession of a Controlled Substance
(Methamphetamine), Ingestion of a Substance other than Alcohol for the purpose of
intoxication and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
