Watertown Fire Rescue was called to a small grass fire along Interstate 29 north of town, early this morning (February 24, 2015). Upon arrival firefighters found a small 50 ft x 50 ft area of grass on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished before it could burn out of the highway right of way. The fire appears to have started from something being thrown from a passing vehicle.
Watertown Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone that with the lack of snow cover to use caution, and not throw lit cigarettes from you vehicle.
