On January 23 at approximately 5:10 p.m., Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a traffic accident near the intersection of 21st Street West and U.S. Highway 212, near Evolution Powersports. Upon arrival, crews located two pickup trucks and a trailer in the south ditch of Highway 212. A black four-door pickup had sustained major front-end damage, and the driver reported injuries. A white heavy-duty pickup pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with approximately 40 sheets of drywall had been traveling westbound when, according to its occupants, an uninvolved vehicle pulled out from an intersection, causing the driver to swerve into eastbound traffic. As a result, the trailer collided with a black Ford F-150. Occupants of the white pickup reported no injuries, and their vehicle sustained minor damage. The driver of the black pickup was transported by Medic 4 to Prairie Lakes Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Engine 4 remained on scene to assist with debris removal, and Crocker’s Towing responded to remove the vehicle. Crews remained on scene for approximately 20 minutes.
