[ARCHIVED] Reminder: Leash your pets

Summer has arrived and that means everyone is enjoying the outdoors by going camping, playing ball games, visiting the local parks, riding bike or just going for a casual walk. With an increase in outdoor activity, our pets are also spending a lot more time outdoors as well. The Watertown Police Department would like to send out a reminder to the Watertown Community that all dogs and cats need to be controlled by a leash to prevent the dog or cat from biting any person or other animal.

Owners shall not permit their dog or cat to run at large within the City. The fine for animals running at large is $110.00. The local dog park allows your dog to run freely within the gates, but all other parks in the community require that they are leashed.

Thank you for keeping our animals and the community safe and we hope everyone enjoys their summer.
