On January 28th, 2015, as part of an ongoing multi-agency investigation, the Watertown Police Department, United States Postal Inspector and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation made multiple arrests involving the use and distribution of methamphetamine.
During the investigation, law enforcement received information that led them to the 400 block of East Kemp Ave in the Post Office parking lot. Mr. Perry Cordell, age 44, and Mr. David Hanson, age 26, were arrested for Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Cordell and Hanson are residents of Watertown, SD. 1 ounce of crystal methamphetamine was seized. The estimate street value is $5,600.
In conjunction with the arrests, a search warrant was served at 912 11th Ave NW, Watertown, SD. Drug paraphernalia and stolen firearms were seized.
They both are being held at the Codington County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are pending.
