The City of Watertown received more than 2 inches of snow accumulation on January 6th, 2015. As a result, the Watertown Street Department has announced a snow emergency and will be plowing as a result.
On Tuesday, January 6th, 2015 beginning at 10:00 AM, the Watertown Street Department will plow avenues.
On Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 beginning at 3:00 AM, the uptown business district will be plowed followed by streets.
The WPD will be ticketing vehicles.
Streets are plowed on: Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Avenues are plowed on: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Parking on streets, avenues or snow routes during the days they are scheduled to be plowed will result in a $40 fine (fine doubles to $80 if not paid in 3 days).
Please assist us by not parking on the roadways during the time that roadway is scheduled to be plowed.
Officers will do same day ticketing of vehicles blocking the snow plows from clearing the city’s streets and avenues. If the obstructing vehicles remain on the street longer than 24 hours after being plowed around, it will be towed at the expense of the owner.
There is also a fine for blowing snow into the street from a driveway or sidewalk.
