In the early morning hours of October 4, 2025, a Watertown Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop in northwest Watertown that resulted in the arrest of four individuals on various drug-related charges.
A search revealed two bags of methamphetamine totaling approximately six grams, along with multiple syringes. Following the traffic stop, officers searched Vickie Gartside’s residence in northwest Watertown. Inside, officers located two digital scales, one of which contained meth residue.
All four individuals were arrested on various drug-related charges:
- Vickie Gartside (70, Watertown, SD): Possession of a Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Place Where Drugs are Kept, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- Piper Greenough (22, Watertown, SD): Ingestion of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Driving Without Headlights.
- Mark Moore (40, Watertown, SD): Ingestion of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- Eugene Olson (33, Watertown, SD): Ingestion of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
All four were transported to the Codington County Detention Center, where bond for all four was set at $2,000 cash.
The Watertown Police Department was assisted by the South Dakota Department of Corrections Parole Division, as all four individuals are currently on parole.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
