On December 9th, 2014, at approximately 3:25 PM, Watertown Police and Fire Rescue responded to the intersection of SD Hwy 81 and 20th Ave SE for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries.

A semi-truck traveling eastbound on 20th Ave SE stopped at the stop sign but failed to yield to oncoming traffic as it crossed the intersection of Hwy 81/20th AVE SE. A van traveling northbound crashed into the semi-truck. The driver of the semi-truck was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the van incurred possible minor injury.

Mr. Andrew Hofer of North Dakota was cited for a stop sign Violation as he failed to yield to
oncoming traffic.
