With the recent rain, conditions at the Watertown Regional Landfill are challenging but access remains open. Yard waste, metals, appliances, and the self-haul area are fully open to the public. The tree pile is accessible for branches on the north and east sides, though conditions there are muddy.
Crews are placing wood chips to improve access to the garbage cell, which may cause delays. Contractors are asked to call ahead at (605) 882-6219 for the latest updates. Pickups with trailers are encouraged to unload by hand at the self-haul area, as attempting to reach the garbage cell in wet clay conditions may result in vehicles becoming stuck. If access to the cell is needed, please call for an update prior to visiting at (605) 882-6219.
Thank you for your patience as crews work to keep landfill services safe and accessible.
