The adult mosquito population has been determined to be sufficient to trigger spraying in the following areas of Watertown:
East Lake: East side of Lake Kampeska (from Kampeska Lodge to the Prairie Winds Golf Club), the Derby Downs neighborhood, and the Prairie Haven neighborhood.
West Lake: West side of Lake Kampeska (from Kampeska Lodge to the Prairie Winds Golf Club).
Weather conditions permitting, spraying for mosquitos will begin in the above designated areas of Watertown after 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, on August 12, 2025.
Although the mosquito adulticide used by the mosquito control program is a fairly safe material, the following common sense measures should be followed when mosquito spraying becomes necessary in a neighborhood, as sensitivity to the adulticide may vary.
1. If possible, remain indoors whenever spraying takes place.
2. Keep children and pets indoors during spraying and for about an hour afterwards.
3. Rinse homegrown fruits and vegetables thoroughly with water before cooking or eating.
