Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a silage truck tipped on it side at about 715pm Wednesday evening in rural Codington County. When crews arrived they found that a truck carrying fresh cut silage had met another vehicle on the narrow township road, when they truck got too close to the side of the road and tipped into the ditch. The driver received minor injuries and didn't require treatment or transport to the hospital. The owner of the truck had heavy equipment to upright the vehicle and clean up the silage. The road was closed down for about an hour.
Watertown Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone that as harvest is approaching, please slow down and use caution when passing large farm equipment, There is always the possibility that they could turn into a field approach or at a farm driveway.
