Watertown Fire Rescue crews responded to house fire at 1340 25th Street SW. The call came in at 3:40 pm and initially was reported as a power line down from a tree limb falling on it. When the power line fell it started a near by tree on fire and with the high winds the embers from the tree fire spread to the adjacent house. The fire initially was on the exterior of the house in multiple locations. Fire crews initially hit the fire from the outside but there was some obvious extension into the interior of the home and within the homes walls. Crews made entry into the house and removed the wood paneling to expose the fire and extinguish it. The home received moderate fire and water damage and light smoke damage. Crews were on scene 1 hour and 20 mins. WFR was assisted by Watertown Police, Municipal Utilities, and East River Electric.
