Watertown Fire Rescue (WFR) responded to a outside building fire at Dempsey's in uptown Watertown.  At 18:27 WFR was dispatched for a fire on the outside of the building.  WFR arrived on scene to find business Owner/Manager using a garden hose to put out a pile of boxes that were being stored for recycling.  The siding on building was burned but did not extend into the building.  WFR used thermal imaging cameras to check for extension into the building.  Watertown fire rescue was on scene for approximately 25 minutes.  

WFR was assisted by Codington County Sherriff office and Watertown Police Department.  

Watertown Fire Rescue would like to remind the public that cigarette butt cans should be placed away from the building and have some water in the bottom to prevent a fire on hot and windy days.
