On June 30th, 2025, at 5:22 PM, Watertown Fire Rescue was dispatched to a fire at the Super 8 Hotel, located at 515 14th Ave SE. The response included Engine 4, Engine 3, Battalion 1, and Medic 1. Upon arrival, firefighters found a detached garage, approximately 300 square feet in size, with flames visible on the exterior siding. Bystanders reported that they attempted to extinguish the fire using two fire extinguishers but were unsuccessful.
Fire crews quickly brought the fire under control and conducted a light overhaul to ensure it did not spread to the structure. Fortunately, no fire extension was found, and there was no smoke or water damage to the interior of the garage. Crews were on the scene for about 30 minutes. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
