At approximately 7:15 p.m. Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a report of a fire inside a home 8 4th Ave NW. Upon arrival, crews noted visible smoke inside the structure. The homeowner was on scene and reported to fire crews that no persons were inside the home, but that a cat and dog may still be inside. Upon entry into the structure crews were able to quickly locate and extinguish the fire. The family did lose one of the pets, but the other was found to be safe and well. Fire crews suspect the origin of the fire to be electrical in nature. Watertown Fire Rescue responded with 3 apparatus and were on scene for approximately 2 hours. Watertown Fire Rescue was assisted by the Watertown Police Department, who provided traffic control, and the Watertown Municipal Utilities, who turned off the electrical and gas at the residence. No persons were injured during the incident.
