[ARCHIVED] Watertown Fire Rescue Responds to a House Fire

WFR responded to an early morning residential fire in north central Watertown on Friday, October 10, 2014.

WFR responded to an early morning residential fire in north central Watertown on Friday, October 10, 2014. The homeowners were home at the time of the fire, and were able to escape without injury. Upon arrival, fire crews found fire on the second level of a two story home. The homeowners were alerted simultaneously between their smoke detectors going off and also with the smell of smoke waking them up. Crews made entry and were able to get knockdown of the fire in a timely manner. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it does appear to be electrical in nature. The home did sustain some smoke and water damage, resulting in the extinguishment of the fire. Thankfully no one was injured in the fire, civilian or fire personnel. Watertown Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone to test your smoke detectors monthly and change batteries twice a year. They absolutely SAVE LIVES!
