The Watertown Police Department was notified at 1:55pm Wednesday afternoon of a male subject who was inside his residence in the 300 block of 9th Street SE and had threatened suicide. As officers approached the residence they were able to hear two gunshots from inside.

A perimeter was established and the Watertown Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics Team and Crisis Negotiators were notified to respond.

After numerous unsuccessful attempts by negotiators to establish contact, the SWAT team made entry and at 3:35pm discovered the male deceased from a single gunshot wound.

The identity of the 43-year old male has not been released pending notification of family members.

The identity of the male that committed suicide on August 20th, 2014, has been identified as
Mr. Roy Fish, Age 43, of Watertown, SD.
