Fall Yard Waste Drop Off Site Closing Date

The Watertown Regional Landfill Staff would like to thank the residents of Watertown for making the 2020 Fall Yard Waste Drop Off Site a big success.  The Yard Waste Drop Off Site located on 4th Avenue SW will be open through Wednesday, November 25th 2020.  At 6:00 PM Wednesday, November 25th, the Yard Waste Drop Off Site will be closed for the season.

We will continue to accept yard waste and branches free of charge from Watertown residents at the Landfill (with a municipal utility bill) through Saturday, December 5th 2020.

All residents disposing of yard waste at the Landfill must have a current utility bill with them for free disposal.  Free disposal privileges are for Watertown residents only.  Commercial or contractor loads will be charged the appropriate tipping fee for the incoming load.  Those people that do not have a current Watertown Municipal Utility bill will be charged the appropriate tipping fee for the incoming load.

All vehicles hauling solid waste to the Landfill or other solid waste operations are required to be adequately secured to prevent the scattering of solid waste.  Entering the Landfill with an uncovered load will result in a charge of twice the normal tipping fee for the incoming load.

The Watertown Landfill is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.  The Watertown Landfill is located three miles south and one mile east of the intersection of U.S. Highway’s 81 & 212.

General information regarding the Landfill including location, hours of operation, container repair, and rates is located on the City’s website at
