[ARCHIVED] WFR responds to Fire in shelter belt

On 11/06/2020 at approximately 12:50 PM Watertown Fire Rescue units along with mutual aid from Goodwin Fire Department responded to 16930 465th Ave for a controlled fire that had spread into a shelterbelt due to the high winds. Upon arrival fire units found a fire less than an acre in size in the middle of a shelterbelt. The fire was quickly contained to the burned area. Fire crews were on scene approximately 2 ½ hours continuing to put out hotspots. Watertown Fire Rescue would like to remind landowners that conditions are very dry and that you should check future weather conditions before you decide to burn.
