Watertown Fire Rescue crews were called just before 7:30 am on 8/14/20 for a 1 vehicle rollover accident with one patient trapped in the vehicle. WFR responded with Rescue 51 and Medic 5. On scene crews found a Chevy Duramax truck had left the roadway, hit an approach and rolled several times. The cab of the truck was seperated from the truck frame. Crews found 1 male patient pinned in the truck cab. Rescue 51’s crew used the Hurst cutting tools and Hurst ram to extricated the pinned victim. Once out of the vehicle he was cared for by WFR Paramedic’s. The patient was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital in stable condition. Watertown Fire Rescue crews were assisted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Codington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florence Fire Department.
