Watertown Fire Rescue was dispatched to a single vehicle roll-over accident on Hwy 20 near the airport at 6pm Tuesday evening. A vehicle swerved to miss some wildlife on the road and lost control causing the vehicle to roll over. One occupant of the vehicle was extricated by WFR personnel and transported to PLH for injuries sustained. The other occupant declined treatment and transport. The roadway was blocked for about 20 minutes. Just as WFR units were clearing the scene, a structure fire was dispatched. Units responded to the 1200 block of 1st Ave NE for a fire in a bathroom. Upon arrival crews found a bathroom fan that overheated and started on fire. Crews removed the fan from ceiling and ensured that it had not spread into the attic space. There was no fire spread and no damage to the home. Fire crews were on scene for about 30 minutes.
Watertown Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone to exercise caution on the roadways. Traffic is increasing as the summer progresses, motorcycles are out enjoying the warm weather, and young ducks, geese and deer are moving in the evenings.
