[ARCHIVED] WFR responds to head on collision

Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a two vehicle head on collision at 13:29 this afternoon.  Upon arrival, found two full sized vehicles involved in collision.  The two drivers of the vehicle were out of the vehicles prior to our arrival.  Both were transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital by Watertown Fire Rescue with undisclosed injuries.  Hwy 81 was closed for a short period of time because one of the vehicles was blocking both lanes of travel.  The highway was cleaned up and reopened promptly.   Watertown Fire Rescue was assisted on scene by Codington Co. Sheriffs deputies and Performance Towing.

Remember new cell phone laws went into effect July 1st.  Please use extra caution this holiday weekend.
