The Watertown Police Department is once again offering fingerprinting services. The WPD reopened the lobby last week but were not open for fingerprinting. We have since obtained a LiveScan Fingerprinting Station that will greatly enhance our ability to perform this service to the public. The digital scanner reduces the time and amount of direct contact with an applicant compared to the “live ink” process. It is safer for both the applicant and official acquiring the fingerprints and complies with FBI requirements.
Fingerprinting services are offered Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM and is compliant with CDC guidelines. The machine is sanitized before and after each use. The applicant and the official are required to wear masks (the applicant should bring a mask with them). The applicant will be required to thoroughly sanitize his/her hands prior to the process. The applicant’s temperature will be taken and COVID screening questions will be asked.
There is a $15.00 fee for the service. It is payable by cash, check, or credit card. Walk-ins are accepted however, if possible the applicant should schedule an appointment by calling 605-882-6214.
