Watertown Regional Landfill
and Solid Waste Collection
Free Landfill Weeks Spring 2020
The Watertown Regional Landfill will provide free residential dumping (garbage, trees, yard waste, e-waste, white goods, and cardboard) for City of Watertown residents at the Landfill starting April 21, 2020. The end date of free residential dumping will be announced at a later date. The Landfill’s hours of operation are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Saturday. No loads are accepted after 4:00 PM. The Landfill is closed on Sunday.
To utilize free dumping Watertown residents:
1. Must show a recent Watertown Municipal Utility bill identifying the individual as a City of Watertown resident paying for garbage service.
2. Must securely cover all loads, regardless of content, until after weigh-in. Loads that are not securely covered are not accepted for free and are charged twice the normal fee.
3. Must sort loads into the disposal sites as they are unloaded:
Garbage, trees, e-waste, white goods, yard waste, and cardboard.
Separating these items as you load makes unloading much easier.
Your residence must be located within Watertown city limits to receive free dumping privileges. Commercial waste and contractors are charged the regular fees.
The Watertown Regional Landfill reminds residents we do not accept
CAR BATTERIES, WASTE OIL, TIRES, or ANTIFREEZE. Call the Landfill at 882-6219 if you need information on disposing of these items.
Information regarding the Landfill location, hours of operation, and rates is located on the City’s website at www.watertownsd.us.
Thank you,
