UPDATE:
On April 17th, 2020, the Watertown Police Department took several reports of vandalism throughout Watertown. The vandalism calls included exterior buildings spray-painted and damage to property. The vandalisms occurred during the overnight hours between 4/15 and 4/17.
On 4/20/2020, three individuals (two adult males and one juvenile male) were charged in connection with the spray paint vandalism. The invidious charged with this incident are 18 year old Karter Brandenburger (Watertown), 19 year old Casper Dabek (Watertown) and a 17 year old juvenile male. All three were charged with Intentional Damage to Property less than $400, Intentional Damage to property less than $400 is a class 2 misdemeanor, which carries a punishment of up to a $500 fine and or 30 days in jail.
During the overnight hours of April 18th to April 19th, approximately 20 mailboxes were damaged around Lake Kampeska. Witnesses observed two vehicles with male suspects hanging out the window with baseball bats.
After receiving a tip from the public, a 16-year-old juvenile male was charged with vandalizing these mailboxes. The juvenile was charged with Intentional Damage to Property more than $400 but less than $1000 and released to his parents, Intentional Damage to Property more than $400 but less than $1000 is a class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a punishment of up to a $2000 fine and or one year in jail. This investigation is ongoing and other arrests may be pending.
