Frost Heaves

The unusually deep frost that we had this last winter has created many frost heaves in our streets. Because the frost took so long to get out of the ground it has created a delay in repairs. Before we can do any effective repair work, we need to let the base course and sub-grade (material under the asphalt layer) dry out and firm up. At this time the City is coordinating efforts to repair the damaged areas. Some of the damage is extensive and may take more time to repair. Motorists are asked to watch for heaves and please be patient while the street department makes the repairs.
