[ARCHIVED] WFR responds to diesel fuel spill

Watertown Fire Rescue responded Wednesday night to a diesel fuel spill near 120 9th Ave SE, in Watertown. Upon arrival, crews found a hole in a diesel fuel saddle tank on a semi tractor trailer. Approximately 15 gallons of fuel had been spilled on to the ground. The spill was caused by a hole in the fuel tank. The spill poses no threat to anyone nearby and was completely cleaned up by fire personnel. The driver of the truck reported the leak upon a post trip inspection of his vehicle. Watertown Fire Rescue reminds over the road drivers to do a pre and post trip inspection of your trucks and trailers before and after every run. Many accidents and safety issues can be prevented by a simple vehicle walk around. Thank you, WFR.
