Watertown Police Officers arrested 29 year-old Ryan Root of Watertown early Monday morning after performing a traffic stop.

A Watertown Police K9 was deployed on-scene and alerted to the vehicle. Root has been charged with Possession of Marijuana (1-10lbs) Possession with Intent to Distribute (1-10lbs) and Possession of a Controlled Substance. A search warrant was obtained for a Watertown residence and an additional amount of marijuana, an undisclosed amount of cash and a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was seized as a result of this investigation.

A female resident, Jill Helvick, 29, of Watertown was also arrested and charged in connection with this investigation.
