FLOOD UPDATE FOR MARCH 26TH, 2019


Significant progress was made overnight in the construction of Hesco Baskets along the
Big Sioux River on Kamepska Boulevard.  The work on the berms will continue throughout the day
today.

Water levels will remains steady throughout the day today before beginning to rise on Wednesday
morning.  The current anticipated crest on the Big Sioux River is Wednesday morning at 1:00am at a
level of 12.7 feet. The current level is 10.99 feet.  As the river continues to rise during the
next day, road closures are possible.

Highway 212 in the area of MAC’s will begin receiving HESCO baskets later this evening.  Eastbound
traffic flow through this area will be slowed during this time.

Motorists are reminded to drive safely and give workers room to work during this process.
