Spring Yard Waste Drop-off Site
April 14th through April 26th
2014
The Watertown Regional Landfill will operate the Yard Waste Drop-off Site this spring. The site will be open to receive residential yard waste from Monday, April 14th through Saturday, April 26th 2014. The site is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The site is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
Hours of operation are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; disposal is only permitted during these hours. The Site is located east of Municipal Utilities at the 4th Ave. S.W. Bridge.
Materials accepted free at the yard waste site include residential grass, leaves, garden vegetation and bushes. Tree limbs up to 6” in. diameter and 6’ in length are also accepted.
Residents are asked to dump their waste out of their containers or bags into dumpsters provided by the City. Residents using their 95 gallon yard waste containers will unload them from their vehicle and the Landfill staff will dump them using a rear-load truck.
Residents with loose pickup or trailer loads are required to take the loads to the Landfill. These secured loads will be accepted free of charge at the Landfill with a current Municipal Utility bill. Entering the Landfill with an unsecured load will result in a charge of twice the normal tipping fee.
Free disposal privileges are for Watertown residents only. Commercial or contractor loads will be charged the appropriate tipping fee for the incoming load. People without a current Watertown Municipal Utility bill will be charged the appropriate tipping fee for the incoming load.
All loads entering the Yard waste site on 4th Ave. S.W. and the Landfill are required to be securely covered to prevent littering.
General information regarding the Landfill including location, hours of operation, container repair, and rates is located on the City’s website.
Thank you,
Watertown Regional Landfill Staff
