[ARCHIVED] December 3rd, 2018 Plowing Schedule

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Watertown Street Department is currently plowing highways and emergency snow routes. Starting at 2 AM on December 3rd, 2018, we will be plowing the Downtown Business District followed by residential streets.

Downtown Business Owners: Please assist the Watertown Street Department by cleaning off your sidewalks before 2 AM on December 3rd, 2018.

The Watertown Police Department has asked that we remind residents of the ticketing process. As requested, the information is listed below:

Streets are plowed on: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday

Avenues are plowed on: Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday

Please assist the Watertown Street Department by not parking on the roadways during the time that roadway is scheduled to be plowed. Parking on streets, avenues, or snow routes during the days they are scheduled to be plowed will result in a $40 fine (fine doubles to $80 if not paid in 3 days). There is also a fine for blowing snow into the street from a driveway or sidewalk.

Officers will do same day ticketing of vehicles blocking the snow plows from clearing the City’s streets and avenues. If the obstructing vehicles remain on the street longer than 24 hours after being plowed around, it will be towed at the expense of the owner.

The Watertown Street & Police Department appreciates the cooperation and understanding of residents in removing cars to provide for effective snow removal on City streets.
