At approximately 7:00 am this morning, the Watertown 911 Center became aware of the fact that the 911 number was out of service. The number is currently ringing as a fast busy tone.
It has been determined that there is a large 911 outage that is affecting Public Safety Answering Points (911 Centers) in South Dakota. South Dakota 911 officials are currently working with Next Generation 911 officials and telephone company providers to resolve the outage.
During this outage, all residents in Clark, Codington, Day, Deuel, Grant and Hamlin Counties should call the Watertown Police Department at 605-882-6210 for emergency services. Residents are reminded to have their complete address and telephone information available as that will help us to properly deliver emergency services to them.
