The Watertown Street Department would like to remind residents that it is unlawful to deposit leaves or grass into streets/alleys, as per Ordinance 5.0306. Recently there have been issues with localized flooding due to leaves/grass clogging storm drains. This is a major concern as it can flood houses and property, thus, causing damage with costly repairs. Also, this poses a safety hazard for motorcycles, bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, etc.  

Any person violating this ordinance could be punished by a fine up to $200 or imprisonment up to 30 days, as per Ordinance 5.9901.
