Recycle Update
The week of Monday, May 21, 2018 Recycle Route A is
collected. Recycle Route A is north of 3rdAve N and all of Lake Kampeska and Derby Downs. For Single Stream recycling co-mingle all
recycle materials in the tan container for collection every other week.
Register at www.watertownsd.us to receive a recycling container. On line registration is quick and easy. If online registration will not work for you,complete the form available at the Finance Office in City Hall.
If you need a second
recycling container, please go to our website to request one. The City of Watertown will deliver anadditional Tan 95 gallon Single Stream recycling container to households requesting
them. The City’s residential recyclingprogram remains a voluntary program.
Recycling participation at apartments is at the discretion of theapartment manager.
The container remains
the property of the City; please do not take them with you if you move. You must register in order to receive arecycle container.
Help the Watertown
recycle program achieve maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness. Pleasedo not set out your recycle container until it is full.
Remember-Never include glass in the recycle
container. Glass is not recycledand causes injuries on the sort line.
PLEASE REMOVE & DISCARD ALL LIDS & CAPS from
plastic containers. Plastic bottles with lids & caps attacheddo not collapse and take up extra volume in the recycling bales. If lids are attached they must be manually
removed at the recycle facility which is not cost effective.
Please place yourcollection containers out the night before your collection day to avoid missing
the truck. Collection routes beginat 5:00 AM, and there is no set time when they will cover a certain area of
town. Trucks are not rerouted to pick upcontainers that are put out late. All
containers placed on the parkway or boulevard on the day of collection shall beremoved on the same day following collection.
