On 5-8-18 at approximately 9 pm, Watertown Police Department officers were dispatched to the 400 block of west Highway 212 for a report of a pedestrian
struck by a vehicle.

Once officers arrived on scene, they discovered an adult male suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Watertown Fire Rescue responded and began life saving measures on the male. The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian stopped and checked on the male victim.

The identity of the male pedestrian is not being released at this time because the crash is under investigation. The male pedestrian was flown to a Sioux Falls hospital with serious life threatening injuries.

The driver was identified as Mr. Kevin Fischbach. Fischbach was arrested for DUI – Zero Tolerance Under 21, Underage Purchase or Possession of Alcohol,
and Driving While Revoked. The investigation is ongoing.
