FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 14th, 2018
The City of Watertown received more than 2” of snowfall on April 13th, 2018. Therefore, on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 starting at 6 AM, the Watertown Street Department will be plowing Highways 212, 81, & 20 followed by Emergency Snow Routes.
The Watertown Police Department has asked that we remind residents of the ticketing process for snow removal. As requested, the information is listed below:
Streets are plowed on: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday
Avenues are plowed on: Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday
Please assist the Watertown Street Department by not parking on the roadways during the time that roadway is scheduled to be plowed. Parking on streets, avenues, or snow routes during the days they are scheduled to be plowed will result in a $40 fine (fine doubles to $80 if not paid in 3 days). There is also a fine for blowing snow into the street from a driveway or sidewalk.
Officers will do same day ticketing of vehicles blocking the snow plows from clearing the City’s streets and avenues. If the obstructing vehicles remain on the street longer than 24 hours after being plowed around, it will be towed at the expense of the owner.
The Watertown Street & Police Department appreciates the cooperation and understanding of residents in removing cars to provide for effective snow removal on City streets.
