The City of Watertown has partnered with Midco to offer free public Wi-Fi at Foundation Plaza, the city’s popular public park space located in the heart of downtown. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity for residents and visitors, making Foundation Plaza an even more inviting space to work, play, and gather. Anyone visiting Foundation Plaza can access free high-speed Wi-Fi, courtesy of Midco, regardless of whether they are Midco customers.
“Internet access is an essential service that connects people, empowers businesses, and improves the quality of life in our communities. Having the ability to access Midco Wi-Fi in our communities means that you can enjoy the places you love most without losing connection to the people you love most," said Jeremy Ebsen, Field Operations Manager for Midco.
In celebration of this partnership, the City of Watertown will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 19, at Foundation Plaza. The community is invited to attend.
Watertown Mayor Ried Holien said: “This is a wonderful addition to Foundation Plaza that will make this park, which was already an amazing asset to Watertown, even better. It will assist in programs and events at the Plaza and enhance the experience for everyone who visits. I’m so thankful to Midco for making this available, and doing it in a way that does not cost the citizens of Watertown any money. This is truly a big win for the community.”
Midco offers more than internet – they also provide TV, phone, networking, and advertising services. For more information about what they offer in Watertown, visit https://midco.com/about/service-areas/south-dakota/watertown/.
