In an effort to help raise community awareness regarding illegal drugs in the community, the Watertown Police Department is partnering with local media. A report will be generated each week detailing drug arrests for that week. The report will include a synopsis of the arrest, age and sex of the offenders, and a general location. This weekly report will be in addition to normal media releases regarding felony arrests. This community awareness initiative’s goal is to increase the public’s knowledge on the enforcement efforts the WPD is making to combat illegal drugs.

The increasing illegal drug activity is not isolated to Watertown. It is a community, State, and National issue. The WPD is working closely with stakeholders and values the partnerships within our community.
